The consortium currently includes SIPRI, as the lead institution, ISDC, the University of Central Asia as the main Kyrgyz partner and several research institutions from Asia, Europe and North America. On 1-2 October 2015, SIPRI co-hosted the inaugural Life in Kyrgyzstan Conference in Bishkek jointly with the University of Central Asia (UCA), the International Security and Development Center (ISDC), and the World Bank. The conference brought together more than 40 international and regional speakers who gathered to exchange research and promote SIPRI co-hosted the third annual Life in Kyrgyzstan (LiK) Conference in Bishkek on 12–13 October 2017. During the two-days, the conference was attended by more than 110 participants, representing government agencies, academia, civil society, international organizations, independent researchers and the private sector.

It tracks the same 3,000 households and 8,000 individuals over time in all seven Kyrgyz regions (oblasts) and the two cities of Bishkek and Osh. The Third Annual Life in Kyrgyzstan conference in Bishkek, that brought together over 110 participants from 9 countries, concluded on 13 October 2017.
